Ernst and Young have used the image of an island in
their internal communications as a way of showing there
was something that they were heading towards. They now
decided that they wanted to show their staff that the
grey little island had already been reached, and there
was established business now operating from it. The objective
of the closing sequence is to remove the island, introduce
the new logos, and have a bit of a laugh!
To do this we reproduced the island image in 3D,
then flew the camera into and over it. This revealed
a "Thunderbirds" style island set up in the
background indicating that there was actually far more
going on here than had previously been thought. The
camera then flew around the scene and around the futuristic
base that had been tucked away from view.
We then pull back to view the whole of the 3D island
again, this time with everything in view. A storm gathers
and lightning strikes all over until one bolt hits
something a bit unstable and blows the place to smithereens!
No people or animals were hurt during the making of
this sequence…
