Based on the brief, we created an interactive CD aimed at people on apprenticeships in industry and the employers that they are placed with. The aim of the programme was to encourage providers to adopt a range of effective approaches to evidencing key skills. It provided information and guidance with practical assistance in, for instance, planning and task setting.

The typical user was unlikely to respond to a dry, ‘power point’ presentational style. While clarity and ease-of-use were paramount, displaying content in a captivating way was crucial to the success of the CD-ROM in promoting understanding, progression and action for the Key Skills apprenticeship programme.
